Le vie dell'acqua - Film preview

The film “Le Vie dell’Acqua”, written and directed by Fabio Masi and produced by Growing Production, is a project hosted by the University of Padua as part of the MICOLL project (Migrating Commercial Law and Language), led by Professor Stefania Gialdroni and funded by the European Research Council (ERC). "Le Vie dell’Acqua" is a surprising blend of historical research and contemporary fiction. The story follows a group of high school students working on a school project that unexpectedly turns into a personal and collective journey—an educational and emotional experience.
Set between Padua and Venice, the film takes the audience through classroom lessons, theatre rehearsals, and historical discoveries, weaving together culture, emotion, and reflections on identity. The film gently and truthfully explores deeply relevant themes: the relationship between young people and technology; the conscious use of social media as educational tools; friendship, first love; family conflict; and the search for self in a hyper-connected world.
The project was born from the desire to share the history and culture of a distant era with a wide audience, going beyond academic boundaries to reach not only scholars, but also the general public—and especially younger generations. Through an accessible and engaging cinematic language, "Le Vie dell’Acqua" serves as an original tool for scientific dissemination.
