Recognizing the Creative Contribution of Producers

Producers stand at the very core of the filmmaking process. Their work shapes films and television series, yet the industry still lacks both a shared understanding of, and a serious conversation about the complexity and relevance of their role. One year after the European Producers Club published its recommendations on the recognition of European producers, addressing visibility in festival communications, hospitality and access, ceremony acknowledgement, and jury eligibility, this panel takes stock of where things stand today. What has changed, what hasn’t, and what still stands in the way of producers being recognised, beyond finance and logistics, as part of the creative process that gives rise to films and television series?
