Profile of the Venice Immersive Market (August 29 - September 3)

For the third year, the Venice Production Bridge will organise the Venice Immersive Market, located on the Venice Immersive Island (Lazzaretto Vecchio island) gathering all our Immersive activities during the Venice International Film Festival. These activities include the presentation of immersive projects of both the Venice Gap-Financing Market and the Biennale College Cinema Immersive through 1-to-1 meetings; panels and networking events dedicated to immersive topics; an Exhibition Area for institutions, public and private funds supporting VR/XR/AR, manufacturers, production, distribution, sales, VFX and post-production companies which are connected to immersive content.

 

STANDS ON THE IMMERSIVE ISLAND

The Immersive Island will also feature six international stands, allowing attendees to personally experience titles and projects, meet with representatives of supporting firms, and engage with their various services. The 2024 Focus of the Venice Production Bridge, Luxembourg & Wallonia-Brussels and Japan will also be displaying the best of their respective industries.

 

THE CENTER OF ATTRACTION : LUXEMBOURG AND WALLONIA-BRUSSELS

Film Fund Luxembourg and Wallonie Bruxelles Images are proud to host a joint focus at the 2024 Venice Production Bridge. From 29 August – 3 September, meet our representatives at our joint booth on the Immersive Island and find out more about XR professionals from Luxembourg and French-speaking Belgium, and about the XR and immersive arts industry, including funding, in our regions. Hear more about the immersive projects and experiences from Luxembourg and Wallonia-Brussels selected at the Venice Gap Financing Market and in the Immersive Section of the Venice Biennale del Cinema, and don’t miss the chance to attend our panels on Saturday the 31 August on the Immersive Island:

Film Fund Luxembourg

Film Fund Luxembourg is a public body that was established in 1990 to promote and foster an environment in which the country’s audiovisual industry can develop and flourish. It provides support for scriptwriting, development and production of audiovisual works of any genre, type or format, including XR, for Luxembourg-majority and –minority co-productions, through a single selective funding mechanism. In addition, it represents Luxembourg in European and international audiovisual and film promotion initiatives like Eurimages, Creative Europe MEDIA and EFP.

JETRO, or the Japan External Trade Organization, is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world. Originally established in 1958 to promote Japanese exports abroad, JETRO's core focus in the 21st century has shifted toward promoting foreign direct investment into Japan and helping small to medium size Japanese firms maximize their global export potential. Among various activities, JETRO support Japanese entertainment content business including film industries expanding their overseas market. SODEC: A KEY PARTNER

The Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) is a government corporation overseen by the Québec’s Minister of Culture and Communication. SODEC is a partner for cultural enterprises active in Québec’s audiovisual, book and publishing, music and theatre, digital and art industries and markets. The government corporation, created in 1995, administers a number of financial assistance programs designed to help cultural enterprises meet their needs, promote cultural entrepreneurship and stimulate innovation.

The corporation is instrumental in making businesses more competitive by fostering the export and distribution of their works.  From a coproduction perspective, SODEC offers selective support, in the form of project investments and grants and primarily for production, marketing, broadcasting and promotional activities. The assistance is extended to the Québec portion of the overall production, and projects must be submitted for consideration by Québec cultural enterprises.

SODEC also administers specific tax measures, namely refundable tax credits for coproductions.

UNIFRANCE

Founded in 1949 as an association under the 1901 French Associations Act, and operating under the supervision of French state authorities, notably the CNC (Centre National du Cinéma et de l'Image Animée), Unifrance is the organization responsible for promoting French film and TV content worldwide.

Based in Paris, Unifrance has around fifty staff members, as well as representatives in the United States, China, and in Japan. Today, the association brings together over 1,000 professionals in the French cinema and television sectors (including producers, artists, talent agents, and sales companies), who work together to promote French films and television content to audiences, industry professionals, and foreign media.
