The 6 projects selected for Final Cut in Venice

From 31 August to 2 September 2019 the seventh edition of the workshop dedicated to the cinema industry of African countries and the Middle East.

The 6 work-in-progress films of the 7th edition of Final Cut in Venice have been selected. Final Cut in Venice is the project that has been providing since 2013 concrete assistance in the completion of films from all African countries and from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria. Final Cut in Venice is one of the projects launched by the Venice Production Bridge of the Venice International Film Festival, directed by Alberto Barbera and organized by La Biennale di Venezia chaired by Paolo Baratta.

The 6 work in progress films selected are:

Another Day in Baghdad by Maysoon Pachachi (Iraq, France, Germany, UK, Kuwait)
Mica by Ismaël Ferroukhi (Morocco, France)

DOCUMENTARY
Captains of Za’atari by Ali El-Arabi (Egypt)
Makongo by Elvis Sabin Ngaibino (Central African Republic, Argentina)
Nardjes, Alger, Mars 2019 by Karim Ainouz (Algeria, France, Germany, Brazil)
On the Way to the Billion by Dieudo Hamadi (Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Belgium)
