FOCUS OF THE VPB IN 2024

FOCUS OF THE VPB IN 2024

Luxembourg & Wallonia-Brussels and Japan will be this year’s Focuses of the Venice Production Bridge, which will be held from August 29 to September 3, during the 81. Venice International Film Festival (August 28 – September 7), organized by La Biennale di Venezia.

Following the successful launch of the Venice Production Bridge Focus in 2021 with the Netherlands, our exploration continued in 2022 with an in-depth look at the film production in France and Taipei. Building on this momentum, 2023 saw Germany and Quebec take center stage.

This year the Venice Production Bridge Focus will shine a spotlight on Luxembourg & Wallonia-Brussels and Japan. This will be achieved through specially selected projects presented by their directors and producers at the Venice Gap-Financing Market, showcasing recent publications available for adaptation at the Book Adaptation Rights Market, works-in-progress co-productions at Final Cut in Venice, as well as Immersive projects and VR/XR/AR creatives, alongside VFX and post-production companies connected to present at the Venice Immersive Market on the Immersive Island.

In 2024, the Venice Production Bridge Focus will offer a comprehensive overview of the industry and filmmaking community, through a series of dedicated panels, meetings, and networking events, with the participation of a significant delegation of professionals and decision-makers from Luxembourg & Wallonia-Brussels and Japan. This delegation will include representatives from public funds, festivals, producers, immersive experts, private financial institutions, sales agents, and distributors.

Stay tuned for the full programme of the Venice Production Bridge, which will be announced in the coming months.
