Celebrating its remarkable 10th edition in 2023, the Venice Gap-Financing Market has proudly presented an astounding total of 370 projects stemming from 70 different global countries throughout the last decade.

Commencing with a modest 15 projects in its inaugural year in 2014, the event features an impressive 62 projects in 2023, encompassing a diverse selection of Fiction, Animation, Documentaries, and Immersive works. This illustrious line-up also includes projects from the latest Biennale College Cinema workshops, both VR and Fiction works.

The Venice Gap-Financing Market has earned its distinctive reputation as an inclusive platform that warmly embraces all genres and voices. It fervently champions a wide array of storytellers, from promising first-time directors to renowned art-house auteurs. Here, emerging producers share the spotlight with seasoned industry veterans, showcasing projects that span the spectrum of budgets.

Over the course of this transformative decade, the VGFM has evolved into the ideal place for filmmakers to present projects at various stages of production. Many of these projects swiftly ascended to acclaim, receiving accolades at A-list festivals and resonating with audiences in cinemas, on television, and across streaming platforms.

Notably, the Venice Immersive section has further solidified its position as the premier marketplace for burgeoning Immersive projects in development.
